Trial Attorney

Jeff Young

Jeff spent fifteen years defending hospitals, physicians, and insurance companies in some of the most complex medical malpractice cases in the Pacific Northwest, becoming one of the region’s most respected defense trial attorneys. That experience gives him a deep understanding of how defense teams evaluate cases, build strategy, and approach trial.

Today, Jeff represents exclusively those whose lives have been changed by medical negligence, including cases involving surgical errors, misdiagnoses, birth injuries, and catastrophic harm. With nearly two decades of complex litigation experience, he brings a rare combination to every case: the strategic insight of a seasoned defense attorney and the commitment of an advocate focused entirely on injured individuals and families.

Jeff is known for meticulous preparation and exceptional attention to detail. He immerses himself in the medicine and science underlying each case, developing the command of complex subject matter necessary to take on sophisticated defense teams in high-stakes litigation. He regularly handles technically demanding cases that require deep preparation, thoughtful strategy, and extensive trial experience.

His credentials reflect consistent peer recognition. Jeff has been selected to Super Lawyers from 2022 through 2026 and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2020 for Medical Malpractice Law.

Jeff’s professional involvement extends beyond individual cases. He served as Chairperson of the Oregon State Bar Uniform Civil Jury Instructions Committee and completed a four-year term on the Council on Court Procedures, the body responsible for creating and refining procedural rules for Oregon circuit courts. He also served on the Oregon State Bar House of Delegates. That institutional involvement gives Jeff a particularly strong understanding of trial practice and courtroom procedure.

A native Oregonian and proud “Double Duck,” Jeff earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Oregon.

He is licensed in the state and federal courts of Oregon and Washington.
